Well, it’s official! Postmarked for Peril is out in the wild! I have all the feels: excitement (it’s real!), nervousness (will anyone read this thing?), and most of all, gratitude. Like getting hungry raccoons to share snacks, it really took a village to get this book out into the world.
I started writing this book in May as an antidote to the relentless gray spring causing my equally dreary mood. Creating a sunnier world was pure fun. Every day, I’d call my mom to read what I wrote. She’s an easy audience—if she laughed, I knew it could work; if she didn’t, it had to go. My sister was my second read. If she liked it, that was a good sign. Lastly, my advance reader group, a lovely mix of literary friends, helped round it all out with their feedback. A girl couldn't ask for a better gang of readers.
But enough about how the sausage is made—or more appropriately, how the tea and scones are made—let's talk about the book.
Postmarked for Peril is set in the picture-perfect town of Claryce Falls, where everyone has a dog and nothing is ever as simple as it seems. This cozy mystery is packed with all the good stuff: humor, heart, a touch of romance, and a whole cast of eccentric characters who will make you laugh. Maya Ridgeway, the new part-time postmaster, is quickly learning that small-town life isn’t all apple pies and mountain views. There’s a body in the woods, threats aimed at her friend, and a tangled poaching ring to unravel. Toss in a retired postmaster who won’t quit, a prickly activist dragging the town into a trail litter war, and an annoyingly handsome forest ranger always in the wrong place at the wrong time, and you've got a full mail bag.
It’s a perfect mix of small-town charm, zany antics, and that warm feeling of friendship—because, really, who doesn’t love a good mystery with a side of laughs and a dash of dog fur? Settle in with your favorite mug of tea (or coffee, or whiskey, no judgment) and enjoy the ride. You can find the book right here: Postmarked for Peril on Amazon.
Thanks for all your support—happy reading, and don’t forget to pet your dog for me!
